BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Minutes of January 23, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Severna Park Library by President Maureen Carr-York. Also attending were, Steve Poland, Al Johnston, Jerry Pesterfield, John Norville, and Dan Nataf.
Secretary’s Report: Jerry Pesterfield presented the November Board meeting minutes for approval. “Without objection, the minutes stand approved as submitted” unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Steve Poland presented the Treasures report for January to date.

The report was approved as submitted without objection.
John Norville reminded the Board of the need to appoint an Audit Committee.
Jumpers Hole Rd Issue: The Board reviewed the options for modification of Jumpers Hole Rd intersection at the Middle School. The Board agreed unanimously to support option 4B-option3.

Education: No Report
Police Relations: Steve Poland discussed several ongoing activities the AA County Police have been involved in successfully apprehending felons in the area.
Public Works: Dan was asked to assist with the East/West Blvd and the B&A Blvd Traffic and school crossing safety issues. Also reported was the sink areas and roughness of West Benfield at Severndale after the Sewer work was done. If the work is completed all signs for construction and detours should be removed.
Zoning/Legislative Matters: Al Johnston discussed various P/Z items. John Norville excused himself from this part of the meeting and left the room.

Maureen Car York discussed the meeting between Cypress Landing HOA and other parties relating to the Senior Housing of modest means being proposed at Ritchie Hwy.
Speakers for 2008: A review of the speakers has plans thru June. The plan is to have SPHS principle for March, county Executive Leopold for April, Summary of General Assembly for May, and AA County Public Works for June.

Jerry will review the 2007 Board Objectives at the next Board meeting and draft 2008 objectives for review and discussion.
