BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Minutes of May 28, 2009

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Woods Memorial Church by President Maureen Carr-York.  Also attending were, Jerry Pesterfield, Al Johnston, John Norville, Steve Poland, Denny Stamm and Dan Nataf.

 

Secretary’s Report:  The April Board meeting minutes were discussed and “Without objection, the minutes stand approved as submitted.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Steve Poland read the Treasurers report for April which was approved for records and audit.

Education:  Maureen discussed  the meeting she attended and the support for Ed Leahy for the Board of Ed

Police Relations:  Nothing New to Report

                                                     

Public Works:  No Report

 

Environmental Committee:  Nothing new to report.

 

Speakers for 2009:    Cathy Vitale added for June and AACo. Fire and Rescue.  . Ron Bowen Dept. of  Public Works for July.  School Sup. Maxwell for August. New Eastern District Captain for September.  Al Johnson for October on the GSPC 50th. Standing invitation to the Delegates to appear during session to present to the GSPC.  County Health officer and BRAC update for November. December is elections.

 

Bylaws Review:  John Norville discussed the need to change the bylaws to more accurately reflect the procedures used for our annual Board Directors election. With the introduction of electronic voting some of the bylaw language and dates require modification to match the current process that the members voted and agreed to. John and Dan will finalize and update the membership.

Website Review:  John Norville discussed the need to update the GSPC website descriptions of several committees. John and Dan will finalize and update the membership.
